Weight-loss after 4-weeks: 18kg (39lb)
My four weeks on Keto has yielded amazing results – I had to buy a new belt! It took a great deal of will-power to keep myself from snacking on carb loaded treats, but seeing the pounds drop on the scales each morning is very rewarding and well worth the sacrifice of a bag of crips.
Takeaway cravings
One of the more difficult parts of the Keto diet is not being able to order your favourite takeaway – dinners have to be planned to hit the macro targets and takeaway meals often don’t have the required nutritional breakdown to ensure the carb count is inline with the ultra-low daily requirements. So to beak the craving for my favourite Chinese meal of Chinese Pork, I made a fake-away featuring Brussels sprouts for added texture and crunch, and it was incredible.

Fancy a pint?
A long time ago I made a resolution to myself to not drink alcohol during the work week, to keep me sharp. I do like to enjoy the occasional weekend drink and my go-to was beer. Beer is very unfriendly to the Keto diet as it’s packed with carbs, but there are some Keto compliant drinks which can be enjoyed in moderation without kicking you out of Ketosis.
My favourite cocktail has always been the Martini, dry and a little dirty with an olive so I was thrilled to learn I can still enjoy Gin and a dribble of Vermouth on Keto. My local vineyard embarked on Gin distilling and have created one of the finest Gin’s I have ever tasted – with Noilly Prat it makes a phenomenal Martini.
Christmas is just around the corner
While the weight-loss and general health is super rewarding, all work and no play etc… so I will be ending my Keto diet on 23rd December for 2-weeks to enjoy Christmas as I really want a roast potato with my turkey and stuffing and everything that’s loaded with carbohydrates!
